Devotees rush to Sabarimala on Vishu day
Sabarimala: On the auspicious day of Vishu, devotees thronged Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple to have darshan of the Lord. The Sannidhanam and premises were completely crowded by afternoon on Sunday.
Devotees from other states also had arrived at Sannidhanam on Sunday thinking Vishu to be on April 14. When they realised that Vishu falls on April 15, they stayed at Sannidhanam to see the Vishukkani in the wee hours of Monday. With this, the temple and premises witnessed a heavy rush.
After Athazha Pooja on Sunday, tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru and chief priest Vasudevan Namboodiri prepared the Vishukkani. First they displayed the Vishukkani to the idol of Lord Ayyappa and then showed it to the devotees.
KSRTC plied 20 additional buses and conducted more bus services from Nilakkal to Pampa considering the heavy rush of devotees. The scarcity of water in Pampa put the devotees in trouble.
