Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Monday issued detailed guidelines for making the appointments to the Devaswom Board transparent.

The High Court order is on a petition filed by BJP intellectual cell state convenor TG Mohandas alleging that the method of appoint of Devaswom Board members at present is anti-constitutional.

Rejecting the petitioner’s argument that the present method of appointments is anti-constitutional, the court however, said that the present method of appointments should be made more transparent.

“The court cannot impose this matter on the government. The government should take the appropriate decision after considering the guidelines,” the court said.

The details of the guidelines issued by the court have not been made public.

In the petition, TG Mohandas says that the present method of Hindu  members in the Assembly electing the Devaswom Board members is anti-constitutional.
