Thiruvananthapuram: Police have given a clean chit to former DGP TP Senkumar on a complaint that the official allegedly made derogatory remarks against the actress who was attacked early this year.
The probe was initiated on a complaint filed by the Women in Cinema Collective in Thiruvananthapuram. The case relates to Senkumar allegedly making derogatory remarks against the actress in an interview to a magazine. The investigation report says that Senkumar had not made such remarks deliberately.
The interviewer had recorded the telephonic conversation of Senkumar with another person during the interview. Senkumar had not given permission to record the telephonic conversation. However, police found that the interviewer released the details of the private telephonic conversation of Senkumar with another person.
The investigation report of Thiruvananthapuram DCP Ramesh Kumar has been handed over to the Range IG. The report does not recommend action against anybody. IG Manoj Abraham has submitted the report to the DGP.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch is conducting an investigation against Senkumar in connection with the interview given to the same magazine. The probe is conducted on a complaint that Senkumar made remarks that instigate religious hatred.
