DEOs will examine fees in CBSE schools, Kerala govt informs HC
Kochi: District Educational Officers will examine the fees in CBSE schools, the Kerala government informed the High Court on Thursday.
The government clarified this while the HC was considering a petition from parents that CBSE schools in the state were charging exorbitant fees.
The government assured to find out if the CBSE schools were charging exorbitant fees. During these tough times, CBSE schools should not work for profit, the Kerala government clarified its stance in the court.
The CBSE managements must submit their accounts to the DEOs, who will examine them by January 24 and submit a report, the government said.
There were widespread complaints that CBSE schools were charging exorbitant fees for online classes conducted during the pandemic and that students who failed to pay the fees were ousted.
