Alappuzha: A KSRTC employee, who is struggling to stay afloat in a pool of debt due to delay in getting salary, is now selling his home and plot as last resort. Driver at KSRTC Ernakulam depot and Panavalli native informed this matter through a WhatsApp group of KSRTC employees.
He was unable to pay the interest due to delay in getting salaries following which he decided to sell his home of 700 square feet and 8 cent plot as he was left with no other option. He is neck-deep in debt of around Rs 12 lakh borrowed from the bank and co-operative society. He resolved to sell the properties before it was attached by the bank.
This 53-year-old man has worked with KSRTC for 15 years. He said he will have to start looking for a rented house once he sells off his properties.
