Kozhikode: The Kerala School Teachers Union (KSTU) asked the government to backtrack from its decision to hold classes on Saturdays.
KSTU state committee condemned the decision saying that it would harm the public education sector. The members felt that ‘additional’ working days would add to the stress of students and teachers.
As a mark of protest, gatherings for protection of the public education sector will be organized across the districts on June 1.
While KSTU State President K M Abdullah chaired the committee meeting, its members including general secretary P K Azis and organising secretary P K M Shahid delivered their speeches.
