Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan asserted that the Kozhikode district CPM secretary had condemned the mayor’s participation in a programme of RSS-affiliated Balagokulam in Kozhikode. Mayor Beena Philip had later admitted that it was a mistake to participate in an RSS event. Kodiyeri said all these were the actions taken by the party against the incident.
“Some mayors perceive that all the events being organised in the district have to be attended. Earlier, one such mayor went for a similar programme and was soon expelled from the mayor's position. He was a senior leader, who gave classes for party workers,” said Kodiyeri. He was referring to Padmalochanan, who was former Kollam mayor.
Kodiyeri said that the Facebook post of P Jayarajan urging party workers to provide assistance for the believers, who reach for Karkkidaka Vavu bali had two anti-party issues in it. However, he later admitted and rectified the mistake.
