Palakkad: Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC) chairman Preman Dinraj said that KSEB request for revising electricity tariff will be considered in one-and-half months. His remark came after the meeting in Palakkad over increasing the electricity tariff.

He added that the opinion of the people will be carefully examined on the matter. The Chairman said that the decision was taken to handle the demand of KSEB for a tariff hike in a manner that would not threaten the public and industrial and commercial establishments.

Meanwhile, it was pointed out that revising the tariff could affect the newspaper business in Kerala. The hike would severely affect the industry, which incurred losses due to the pandemic and the high cost of newsprint.
