Kozhikode: Kerala recorded unprecedented rainfall in the winter month December. At least 84.7 millimetre rain has been received from December 1 to 18.
It has been the highest rainfall received within the past 25 years in the month of December. With 93.44 mm rain, a similar rainfall was recorded in December 1997 earlier.
India Meteorolgical department informed that the influence of the Mandous cyclone caused the heavy rainfall in December.
