Kondotty: The parts of the Air India Express plane that crashed at Karipur two years ago were moved out of the airport premises. The debris was moved to the area near the cargo complex.

The aeroplane was kept at a special platform near the CISF barrack opposite the terminal. Nearly Rs 1 crore was spent to move the parts of the aeroplane there.

The Boeing company had the responsibility of the aeroplane. The Air India Express received compensation through insurance.

The aeroplane was reportedly moved out of the airport to resolve the financial burden and technical issues while keeping it inside.
