Death threat to P Jayarajan; police issue warning
Kannur: A secret report of the police reveals that CPM Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan is under death threat. The district police head has issued a directive to strengthen security of the leader. Police said a quotation gang in the name of Kathiroor native RSS activist has been entrusted with money and a vehicle to carry out the assigned work.
Police have made arrangements to strengthen security in places where P Jayarajan usually makes a visit. The police wing opined that places where security is less is more likely to be attacked and feel that a move to attack any party office where Jayarajan visits is being mulled.
The RSS activist is an accused in the murder of a CPM activist in Kathiroor. To take revenge for the killing of Manoj in Kathiroor and Remith in Dharmadam, the gang is planning to attack Jayarajan, according to police sources. The information was received by the police from Sangh Parivar. But these kind of threats already exists against Jayarajan and police are only trying to up the vigil.
The security provided to P Jayarajan is not adequate and police are trying to strengthen the security at places where he visits and even in party offices. Police are maintaining tight vigil over criminal groups associated with all parties in the backdrop of this warning.
