Mankada (Malappuram): Police have recorded the arrest of a MBBS student, who rode the bike that met with an accident and resulted in the death of the pillion rider, Alphonsa on Monday.
Aswin, the arrestee, is a Thrissur native.
The duo were travelling on the Kozhikode-Palakkad national highway (966) when their bike hit another bike and a bus on the National Highway in Tirurkad on Monday at 6.50 am.

Police allege that negligent driving (IPC section 279) resulted in the accident. He was arrested after being discharged from the hospital. Aswin suffered injury in the accident. He is a final year MBBS student at Perinthalmanna MES medical college. Alappuzha native Alphonsa was his classmate.
