DCC presidents list: Sudhakaran dismisses Oommen Chandy's allegations
New Delhi: KPCC president K Sudhakaran stated that the DCC presidents list was prepared after broad discussions and so he is not taking the criticisms on its face value. Sudhakaran said this while reacting to the allegations levelled by veteran leader Oommen Chandy. He also criticized Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala indirectly during the press conference held here on Sunday.
Sudhakaran said that discussions were held twice with Oommen Chandy and showed a diary in which the names suggested by Oommen Chandy was written. "No such discussions were held during previous times. As a working president, nobody used to include me in discussions in the past and they directly sought approval of the high command after preparing list of candidates and office bearers of the party," Sudhakaran pointed out.
“Things have changed now and several rounds of discussions were conducted. Oommen Chandy and I had talked twice. Many of those who were nominated by Oommen Chandy have been included in the current list. I was deeply hurt by Oommen Chandy’s statement that no talks were held. I am not claiming that the list is 100 percent perfect. But we can correct the drawbacks,” he added.
Some are annoyed because the appointment was made beyond group politics. The party wants to appoint efficient people in DCC president posts. Though we discussed with Chennithala too, he did not give any list. As a panel of creative leaders is necessary, the party held discussions. Otherwise, discussions are irrelevant, he said.
