Thiruvananthapuram: The leadership is on the move for a consensus following the row over the declaration of DCC Presidents list. It is hinted that senior leaders Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala are being coaxed to reach a consensus on this matter. The Opposition leader V D Satheesan talked to both the leaders on phone. He has also requested that the leaders participate in the UDF Front meeting to be convened on September 6. The response of the leaders to this invitation is quite crucial.

Both the leaders have expressed their dissatisfaction over the declaration of the DCC Presidents list. They had alleged that things were not discussed in detail in the state. The Opposition leader and KPCC president also lashed back at them over this.

The first complete UDF meeting after the appointment of the new leadership will be convened on September 6. Factions, including RSP and Muslim League, are also displeased over the problems within the Congress. A section belonging to RSP opines that they needn’t attend the meeting. The final decision will be taken at the State Committee meeting which will be convened tomorrow.

V D Satheesan headed the consensus following the opinion of the Congress leadership to sort out the problems inside the party to some extent before conducting the meeting attended by factions. Oommen Chandy and Chennithala had not attended the inauguration function of the new building of the DCC office in Kannur in person. They attended the function online.
