New Delhi/Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC President K Sudhakaran and Opposition leader V D Satheesan retaliated against the accusations of the senior leaders Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala. Both leaders claimed that the decisions were made after holding discussions. Amid the press meet, Sudhakaran showed a diary with the list of names suggested by Oommen Chandy.
“Meetings were conducted with Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala twice. Earlier, no decisions on the list of candidates were taken by discussing with me as a Working President,” Sudhakaran said. Many leaders are upset as the entry shifted from the ambit of groupism, added Sudhakaran.
VD Satheesan said that detailed talks were held prior to the selection of new DCC presidents. Such elaborate discussions never happened in the history of the Congress party. Even the scheduling of the meetings were made together in the presence of Ramesh Chennithala and Oommen Chandy.
We have already promised to bring changes in the ways of the usual methods followed by the party. The final list had been made not by considering the demands of one or two, but the discussions were conducted at a very basic level, Satheesan added.
“No list can be prepared by satisfying the demands of everyone in the party. There is no need for us to remain in these positions if all we have to do is to produce the same list suggested by the senior leaders”, said the opposition leader.
