New Delhi: Amidst brewing controversy over the appointment of DCC presidents, AICC general secretary Tariq Anwar will be visiting Kerala.
According to official statement, Anwar is coming to attend the meeting of the newly appointed DCC chiefs scheduled on September 8 and 9. However, it is learnt that he will visit disgruntled Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala to take the edge off the situation.
Anwar will inform K Sudhakaran and V D Satheesan that the senior leaders must be consulted before appointing KPCC office bearers.
He denied commenting on the recent developments.
Meanwhile, senior leaders from the state, in an email to Sonia Gandhi, requested to prepare guidelines for converting the party into a semi-cadre system. KPCC chief will not be allowed to oust people as per his wish for indiscipline. The mail quotes the speech of CM Stephen in the Madras AICC meeting. Congress is not a party like CPM, the leaders said in the mail.
