Cyclone Bulbul set to intensify; Heavy rains expected in Kerala for 2 days
Thiruvananthapuram: Cyclone Bulbul is set to intensify into very severe cyclonic storm on Friday and trigger heavy rainfall in parts of Odisha and West Bengal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
Meanwhile, cyclone Maha formed in the Arabian Sea has weakened into a depression. Sources said Kerala may witness heavy rains owing to the impact of cyclone Bulbul. The met department which had issued yellow alert to some districts have changed the status. It is expected that heavy rains would lash many districts in the state on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the latest forecast, Idukki is expected to get heavy rainfall on Friday. The department has issued yellow alert in Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts on Saturday and in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Idukki, Thrissur and Malappuram on Sunday.
