Cyberattack against Sajitha Madathil: Women’s commission recommends strict action
Kochi: The state women’s commission has recommended strict action against the offenders in the incident of cyberattack against actor Sajitha Madathil on the complaint filed by her. Instruction was given to Ernakulam City Police Commissioner and Cyber cell to take action as there is limit for the commission to intervene in cases of cyberattack.
Sajitha is the maternal aunt of Alan Shuhaib who was arrested with UAPA charges over alleged Maoist links. She had filed compliant with the Chief Minister and women’s commission over the online abuses hurled at her.
In the complaint, Sajitha alleged that there are posts with sexual implications being propagated on social media that defames and insults her. She also alleged some posts to be carrying threats to her life. There are possibilities of being attacked in public places and some people are trying to tarnish her image by dragging her into issues that are completely unrelated to her, she further said.
The actress had filed a complaint with the women’s commission on November 8. She had also handed over the website link of the online media that uploaded a video defaming her along with complaint.
