Thiruvananthapuram: The Customs is intensifying the investigation into the distribution of palm dates and religious texts from UAE consulate. They will issue a notice to the state government seeking explanation in this regard. They are investigating into the mystery behind bringing dates and religious texts via diplomatic channel.

The Customs is checking if gold was smuggled under the guise of these things. Also they will probe into the protocol violation regarding distribution of religious texts which were brought through diplomatic channel. The Customs is issuing the notice to the government seeking clarification in the matter.

The Customs officials have also decided to interrogate minister K T Jaleel. Earlier, he was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and National Investigation Agency (NIA). The NIA is likely to quiz Jaleel again after taking Swapna Suresh into custody. They have requested for the custody of Swapna.
