Thiruvananthapuram: The state protocol officer will be questioned by the Customs in connection with the gold and dollar smuggling cases. Customs has summoned state protocol officer Shine A Haq to the office on January 19.
Earlier, the assistant protocol officer was quizzed by Customs.
Customs will also interrogate Rabins, who was arrested in the gold smuggling case after he flew in to Kerala.
According to the statements of gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh and PS Sarith, some persons without diplomatic protection were given identity cards for diplomats. It was also found that another accused in the case Khalid had used such a card even though he doesn’t have diplomatic cover.
As per reports, Shine had issued such cards.
