Malappuram/Kochi: In a major gold hunt, customs seized gold worth Rs 3 crore from five people at the Karipur international airport in Kozhikode.

As per reports, customs officials seized around 5 kilograms of gold from passengers on Monday and Tuesday.

The gold was smuggled in the form of capsules hidden inside the body, and a computer printer. In addition, gold was also recovered from the garbage bin inside the flight’s toilet.

Meanwhile, in another incident, 833 gram of gold worth Rs 38 lakh was seized from a passenger at Cochin International airport.

The accused has been identified as Muhammad, a native of Palakkad. The gold was smuggled in the form of capsules and was hidden inside his body.
