Kannur: Customs raided the house of Akash Thilankeri as part of the probe into in the gold smuggling-cum-quotation case, on Wednesday morning. The raid comes in the backdrop of his close association with Arjun Aayanki, who was arrested in connection with the Karipur gold smuggling case.
The raid started early in the morning by the customs officers from Kannur. Customs had received information that all who were arrested in relation to the Karipur gold smuggling case have links with Akash Thilankeri.
Ajmal, a native of South Panur, was arrested on Tuesday and he is found to have close links with Akash. Customs belives that Akash played a role in the gold smuggling via Kannur airport and also reached a conclusion that he is the head of the quotation team.
