Deceased Sajeevan
Kozhikode: Sajeevan, the Vadakara native who died in police custody, suffered a heart attack which led to his death, showed the postmortem report. The family of the deceased had alleged that Sajeevan died of police brutality at the Vadakara police station.
The report also noted scars on both elbow joints and a red mark on his back. Meanwhile, a crime branch official investigating the case said the surgeon's statement would be taken after receiving the detailed report. The probe team will also retrieve the hard disk from the Vadakara police station to ascertain whether the case was lodged against Sajeevan before or after his death.
At the same time, the Crime Branch has summoned the suspended police officers of Vadakara station for questioning.
A few days ago, the policemen failed to appear for questioning despite an order issued by the crime branch. The probe team also collected the statement of 26 witnesses in the case.
