Thiruvananthapuram: O Rajagopal MLA has rejected the claims made by BJP state president K Surendran that cross-voting took place in the corporation here to defeat BJP.
“I won’t say cross-voting was the reason for defeat of BJP in Thiruvananthapuram. There is no evidence or any complaint filed in the party in this regard,” he said.
"We failed to win people’s confidence. Party workers should engage in more public services. Then only one can win. LDF was successful in this regard," he added.
There were short comings in seat distribution. It is important to maintain unity and harmony. This should be the way forward. Making experiments without planning would backfire. The party's growth pace is not satisfactory, Rajagopal further stated.
BJP state president K Surendran had earlier alleged that the LDF and UDF cross-voted in order to defeat BJP in the corporation.
