New Delhi: Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said that the criticism against the chief minister is not a personal attack. It is unfortunate that people interpret the statements as an attack on the CM. These are not criticism, but only an attempt to bring issues to his attention, Muraleedharan said.

The central government is trying to deliver oxygen via trains and flights across the country. 2511 metric tonnes of oxygen was made available through trains. The state government should ensure that they have enough tankers to distribute the oxygen all over the state, he said.

The letter sent by the CM to the prime minister has been noticed. It seems that he requested the PM to direct the ministry of external affairs to import oxygen and distribute it. But the CM was misled by someone that the ministry of external affairs is in charge of import and export. It is wrong, Muraleedharan said.

Oxygen plants were allotted in Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Ernakulam through PM Cares Fund. But it was not realized except for the one in Ernakulam. The high court had asked the hospitals including private hospitals to disclose the number of beds available for Covid treatment, he pointed out.

The government claimed that they issued an order regarding the rate for treatment at private hospitals on July 20, 2020. However, this was not implemented anywhere. Many people depend on private hospitals for treatment and why didn't the government implement the order like other states, the minister asked.
