Crisis in KSRTC continues even after appointment of temporary drivers
Thiruvananthapuram: The staff shortage crisis in KSRTC continues after terminating empanelled employees based on high court order. Though temporary staff were appointed on daily wage basis, there is no end to the crisis. About 200 services were cancelled on Sunday also.
Even after calling employees on temporary basis, many of them did not join duty. The management is of the stand that the daily wage staff are not appointed in the vacancy of permanent staff. The temporary drivers are being called only when required.
Temporary drivers will be completely avoided and only permanent drivers will be assigned duty during less crowded days. Heavy rush is likely to be experienced during the days after holidays.
Meanwhile, the employees have decided to start protests as they are not paid salary. KSRTC Employees Union will be conducting a protest in front of the nodal offices on Monday.
