Kochi: The Crime Branch has decided to interrogate more persons in relation to the actor sexual assault case of 2017, including those who are on the suspects’ list, witnesses and the defected witnesses. Actor Dileep had been questioned for 16 hours over the last two days. He was interrogated along with the director Balachandra Kumar who raised serious allegations against him in the case.
The investigation team said that Dileep has not given a satisfactory answer to many accusations Balachandra Kumar raised against him. After hearing the samples of audio files handed over to the Crime Branch by Balachandra Kumar, Dileep denied his voice in the audio clips and claimed that his and his family members’ voice in them were covertly created by some mimicry artistes.
Dileep kept silent over the data collected from his phone at the forensic lab. Dileep claimed that only two audio clips revealed by Balachandra Kumar against him are original and others are fake.
The actor also denied approaching cyber expert Sai Shankar for deleting his WhatsApp chats. He said that no one had been hired to remove the chats from his phones, and it was he himself deleted some WhatsApp chats to clear phone space. He kept repeating that the visuals of the assault are not with him.
Dileep stated that the phones were not sent to any laboratory in Mumbai. He alleged that the revelations of Balachandra Kumar were part of a larger conspiracy hatched against him by some from the film industry.
However, Balachandra Kumar claimed that all the audio clips handed over by him are real.
