Kochi: A team of Crime Branch officials are carrying out inspection in Maradu municipality office. The officials are searching for the documents which granted permission for Maradu flats and verify other files related to this.
Earlier, the investigation of the police case registered against the flat builders was handed over to the crime branch. Also a Special Investigation Team was formed, including officers of Crime Branch and local police.
The 7-member team that consists of Ernakulam Crime Branch DySP Josy Cherian and City Crime Branch Assistant Commissioner Biji George also includes detective inspectors and station house officers.
Meanwhile, the flat owners stated that they would not evacuate the flats until new accommodation is ensured. They said that many places among the list of residential buildings given by the district administration are not vacant and high amount was demanded as rent in some flats. They informed that the matter will be informed to the authorities and that they will evacuate only after the temporary shelters are ensured.
