VD Satheesan addressing media

Thiruvananthapuram: Responding over the death of Twenty20 activist Deepu at Ernakulam’s Kizhakkambalam, Opposition leader of the state VD Satheesan raised a sharp criticism against CPM and Kunnathunadu MLA here on Friday. He said that Deepu succumbed to his injuries from the brutal attack of the CPM workers.

“Everyone has the right to protest democratically. CPM men's attack on Deepu by barging into SC colony over the ‘lights-off’ protest against the legislator is a heinous one," Satheesan said.

Satheesan also criticised the MLA over his inept remark on the attack against Deepu. Reacting to the case against CPM men, the MLA had said that a person in ventilator will never give a statement against the accused.

CPM cannot justify the incident, pointed out Satheesan,

The killing of the Twenty20 activist is the latest incident that proves the arrogance of CPM and its affiliates under the Pinarayi Vijayan government’s second term, he alleged. To corroborate the same, Satheesan listed a series of attacks allegedly executed by CPM and affiliates. He pointed out that individuals in the SC community in the state have been subjected to atrocities in the state.
