Madhur (Kasaragod): BJP state president Sreedharan Pillai on Thursday alleged that the CPM has been trying to destroy Sabarimala temple for the past 60 years. Speaking at the inauguration of the Sabarimala Samrakshana Rathayatra, he added that the BJP will not allow this to happen.

The government is trying to defeat the attempts of BJP to protect faith of people by registering cases against us. Those will be opposed legally. Pinarayi Vijayan shouldn’t forget the incident of extending apology on the first page of ‘Deshabhimani’.

CPM had been trying to destroy Sabarimala since AKG’s reign. They have always tried to destroy faith and attack devotees. Party congress has instructed them to stay away from religious faith and rituals. They took the supreme court verdict as a tool to implement this decision.

Sreedharan Pillai also opined that the allegations against BJP national chief after the Kannur speech was unacceptable.

He affirmed his stand that was announced during the Yuva Morcha meeting. "I pity those who voice for my arrest on that speech," he added.

The rathayatra is led by Pillai and BDJS state president Thushar Vellappally and will end at Pathanamthitta on November 18.

Thushar Vellappally said that the rathayatra is conducted to protect the faith of all malayalis and not just for Hindus. He also urged the Hindus to unitedly oppose the CPM's conspiracy to split Hindus on the basis of castes.
