CPM to smoothen out stance on Sabarimala women entry
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM decided to loosen up its stance on the Sabarimala women entry issue. The party took the decision in its plenum organized at Palakkad.
It was decided to stay away from matters of faith and worship. Also as part of implementing the apex court verdict, no party sympathizer should be driven away and nobody’s sentiments should be hurt.
CPM also urged party members to become active in regional temple committees and not to take initiative in taking women to Sabarimala. This is viewed as a measure to obstruct BJP’s invasion.
The change in stance comes after allegations surfaced that the devastating failure in Lok Sabha elections resulted from the party’s stance in Sabarimala issue.
