CPM to ignore CAG report, says it is politically motivated
Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM has decided to ignore the CAG report which pointed out irregularities in the police department. It is reported that CPM has taken a firm stand to move ahead with the normal procedures following the CAG report. Hence, the CPM state secretariat did not hold any detailed discussion over it.
Being the head of the government, the Chief Minister will face the controversies related to the report. At the same time, CPM observed that the controversy triggered against the police department is politically motivated. UDF has received important information from the CAG report even before its official release. Meanwhile, it is alleged that the CAG has an affiliation to Congress.
Irregularities listed in the report, except the purchase of bullet proof car, did not take place during the LDF reign. The missing cartridges were first reported in 2013. Former DGP T. P. Senkumar had reported the matter during a press meet held on November 27, 2015. In view of this, CPM assumes that the CAG report and the controversy following it are politically motivated.
The party decided that as the controversy is political in nature, there is no need to consider the CAG report. Hence, CPM leadership has no plans to respond on the matter. Because of this, the CPM state secretariat did not discuss the controversy, says reports.
