CPM to identify Maoists inside party; police say 500 are present
Kozhikode: CPM plans to conduct a probe to identify persons who are supporters of Maoists inside the party. A fraction meet will be held as part of this move. The party is planning the fraction meet after 2 CPM activists were arrested with UAPA charges for their alleged Maoists links.
Associated parties of DYFI and SFI will take part in the fraction meet. These meets are being organised to find out those who are Maoists sympathisers inside the party and rectify the mistakes. The arrest of 2 CPM activists from Kozhikode by slapping UAPA charges brought humiliation to the party, CPM has decided to remain vigilant.
The fraction meeting will also assess on avoiding these kind of situations and conduct a probe to identify those Maoists supporters present in the party. The party feels it needs to be watchful on this issue. According to police report, there are as many as 500 Maoists supporters inside the party.
Meanwhile. CPM local committee meeting where arrested Thaha Fasal and Alan Shuhaib are members, will be convened on Monday. The need to oust these 2 students from the party will be taken after the party’s probe report is submitted. CPM Kozhikode South Area committee is also investigating the matter.
