Thiruvananthapuram: CPM has decided to give special responsibilities to members who have crossed 75 years and who were phased out of the party committee over age ceiling.
The respective party unit from which they were phased out will have the discretion to assign the responsibilities.
Over the age cap, 14 from state committee were removed. Their new responsibilities will be decided by state committee itself. The existing financial and other perks from the party will continue.
According to state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, it has been directed that those with ailments should be provided with medical allowances.
Former politburo member S Ramachandran Pillai will work under state committee. He will look over party education from AKG Centre.
Ananthalavattom Anandan will continue as CITU state president. While KJ Thomas will continue as Deshabhimani general manager.
