New Delhi: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president K Sudhakaran said he hopes political parties, including CPM, would extend support if Election Commission (EC) declares election to the Wayanad constituency following the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as MP.

While speaking to the media, Sudhakaran remarked that the legal experts view the verdict on the defamation case against Rahul Gandhi as not realising the significance of the complaint.

"Rahul is being targeted because he has become a headache for the ruling government. He only spoke about events transpiring in India. The party has the ability to battle against RSS and the fascist ideologies," he said.

He pointed out that CPM is also joining hands in protests against Rahul Gandhi's disqualification from Lok Sabha. He remarked that the party will receive a favourable stand from CPM on the matter if Wayanad faces an election.
