CPM state secretariat approves decision to suspend Zakir Hussain for 6 months

In the first phase, the district committee had decided to remove Zakir Hussain from the post of area secretary.

Kochi: CPM suspended its Kalamassery area secretary, Zakir Hussain, for six months from the party. The action was approved by the CPM state secretariat. The action was taken following the investigation conducted by the party on allegations raised against him, including that of corruption.

In the first phase, the district committee had decided to remove Zakir Hussain from the post of area secretary. However, state secretariat instructed that a more powerful action should be taken against him. They pointed out that there was a detailed report against Zakir Hussain prepared by the investigating commission.

It was following this that the district committee decided to suspend the former area secretary for six months. This decision was approved by the state secretariat.
