Kozhikode: BJP state president K Surendran stated that the UDF and LDF are focusing on political gains through religious polarization in the state. Both political fronts are trying to win the election through polarization of religious minorities, he stated during a press meet here on Thursday.
The political agenda of religious extremists has been taken up by an ally of UDF. Congress should make their stand clear on this issue. CPM should clarify their opinion when some people are campaigning for formation of Malabar state, Surendran said.
The Malabar riot occurred in 1921 was recreated in Chelari and controversial statements were issued. But police took no action against this. Jamaat-e-Islami is deciding policies in UDF while LDF is befriending Popular Front, he added.
Both political fronts are hurting the sentiments of the majority communities. The government’s decision to withdraw cases related to CAA protest will only help the extremist religious outfits. Even the chief minister had stated that extremists had misused worship centres, Surendran said.
