CPM’s high-tech district committee office gets ready in Kasaragod
Kasaragod: CPM is gearing up to open the AKG building, a high-tech office for the district committee at Chala Vidyanagar Road here. The AKG building of 30,000 sq. feet worth around Rs 4-crore will be inaugurated by Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan on December 26.
The AKG building will have a spacious conference hall with air-conditioning, library and reading room. Separate rooms will be provided for district secretariat members. Similarly, rooms for class-Bahujan unions and EMS study centre have been arranged. Also, separate waiting rooms for guests will be there.
Facilities including WiFi will be established. There is enough space to park 100 vehicles on the ground floor of the building.
Chief Minister had laid the foundation stone of the new building in 2019.
At present, the CPM district office has been functioning in a 38-year-old building.
Meanwhile, 25 cents of the 41-cent plot where the new building is situated should be given to National Highway Authority.
