Thiruvananthapuram: According to CPM politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, halal controversy is aimed at destroying the communal harmony of Kerala. Such attempts won’t work in Kerala, he said.

Kodiyeri alleged that RSS is trying to divide society into sects based on religions and such moves won’t be welcomed by Kerala society. “RSS is always involved in spreading campaigns that divides society into sects based on religions. Though they were agressive in other states, it is not so rampant in Kerala. However, this controversy suggests that such campaigns are being initiated here also. When state leadership identified that public is against such tendencies, it rejected such claims," he said.

He also urged that no one should entertain controversies like this.
