Thiruvananthapuram: CPM is gearing up to defend itself from the allegations levelled against the Chief Minister and state government with the release of Swapna Suresh's audio clips. CPM state secretariat plans to strengthen its position in public discourse through an effective police investigation.
Earlier, CPM has stated that they will host explanatory meetings across the state to address the issue. It is viewed that the party should defend against fake campaigns against the state government using social media platforms. CPM also calls for a combined effort of the LDF front in tackling the issue by holding the meeting and explanatory meetings.
Earlier, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had said that BJP is behind the latest development in the gold smuggling case. He claimed that these revelations come in the backdrop of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. CPM leaders believe that BJP is trying to discredit Chief Minister and thereby undermine his position in siding with other regional parties against the Union Government.
