Thrissur: Marking protest against the district collector's permission to conduct CPM district conference in the district, KSU activists staged a spoofy 'Hail Pinarayi Thiruavathirakali' here on Saturday.

The spoofy Thiruavathirakali was staged as mocking the original version of mega Thiruvathirakali hailing CPM's popular leader Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan held at Thiruvananthapuram as part of party conference. This comes at a time when the CPM district conferences fall under criticism over the violation of COVID-19 protocol amid the surge in COVID cases.

KSU workers alleged that institutions that are formed under the constitution are now working according to the order from AKG Centre. The protest was organized by the KSU committee in Thrissur constituency.
