CPM misusing govt funds for printing brochures, alleges Oommen Chandy
Thiruvananthapuram: Former chief minister Oommen Chandy on Thursday alleged that the CPM is misusing government funds for house visits.
In order to print the ‘Subiksham, Badra, Surakshitham’ brochures, to be distributed during house visits, funds were utilized from government treasury, he alleged.
“75 lakh copies of the brochure are being printed. Why is the government, which can’t afford the quarantine expense of evacuees, spending money on such extravagance,” he asked.
In a press statement, Chandy said the CPM brochures are printed in three presses in the state. More than Rs 2.5 crore is being spent on it, he added.
The Chief Minister has claimed that the LDF government achieved their objectives within four years. Hence we needn’t expect anything more from this government in the coming year, he added.
Chandy also said that CPM workers have already begun campaigning for the next election using the brochures printed with government funds.
