Thiruvananthapuram: CPM leadership is rumoured to have played a part in ousting Dr B Ashok from his post as Chairman in KSEB. According to reports, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan held a meeting two weeks earlier to decide the fate of KSEB chairman.
Later, Electricity Minister K Krishnankutty addressed the matter in cabinet meeting and an order was issued.
Earlier, B Ashok was unwilling to compromise his stand on revoking his disciplinary action against KSEB association president MG Suresh Kumar for allegedly misusing his office vehicle during his tenure as additional private secretary to MM Mani. Further, action was taken against other officers as well.
Later, a meeting held in the presence of Electricity Department secretary agreed to revoke the action taken against three KSEB employees. However, B Ashok refused to issue an order allowing Suresh Kumar, an assistant executive engineer, earlier working in the KSEB headquarters, to be transferred back to Thiruvananthapuram from Malappuram.
