CPM leaders taking double standard when it comes to misogyny: Mathew Kuzhalnadan

Nobody should think that K K Shailaja is a person beyond criticism.

Thiruvananthapuram: Congress leader Mathew Kuzhalnadan opined that the CPM leaders are taking double standard on issues related to misogyny. He was responding to the controversy over KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran's remark about minister K K Shailaja.

"No Congress worker will have to bow their heads in the name of Mullappally Ramachandran. The CPM leaders are lamenting about misogyny contrary to their stand on similar issues. The Keralites have heard the language used by CPM leaders like Achuthanandan and Vijayaraghavan," he added.

Nobody should think that K K Shailaja is a person beyond criticism. We have seen her contempt to the organisations which chartered flights for repatriating NRIs and her commitment to Kunjananthan who was imprisoned by the court in connection with TP Chandrasekharan murder case, Mathew Kuzhalandan said.

CPM keeps idolising people. First it was Pinarayi Vijayan and now it is Shailaja. I am not questioning them, but don't tell me they are beyond criticism. There was an allegation that P Jayarajan is promoting idolisation in Kannur. It doesn't matter to us. But if they thought they can just degrade Mullappally for criticising K K Shailaja, it is not going to happen, he made it clear through a Facebook post.
