Kochi: Openly criticising party leaders’ favouring their kin for top PSU posts, CPM veteran M M Lawrence said the party and the state government should make the public aware of the strong stance taken against such practices.
The party and the government are obliged to work transparently. Such incidents should not recur, he said while apparently referring to the controversy over Minister E P Jayarajan appointing his relative Sudhir Nambiar as the Managing Director of state-run KSIE. Sudhir is also son of MP P K Sreemathy, who is sister of Jayarajan’s wife.
He said it is the public fury against corruption that took LDF to power. CPM secretary and Chief Minister have already expressed their stance on the issue, he said, adding that he does not want respond to V S Achuthanandan’s remarks on the controversy.
