Kozhikode: Indian Union Muslim League state president Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal said that the CPM and LDF have not invited League to their alliance. Anything related to the League's stance can be declared only after receiving an invitation, he said.

The basic departure of League with CPM is religious belief. No situation of initiating allegiance or clash exists as of now, Sadiq Ali Thangal told Mathrubhumi News.

“Media reports suggest the CPM has invited league to LDF. However, this is not the time for it. League is in a fight against fascist nature of BJP and the Congress has to lead this battle”, he said.

Sadiq Ali reminded that the Congress shall not recede from this mission and urged the party to take up the responsibility seriously.

He asserted that Congress is a congregation of several leaders with considerable followers. “The party faction in Kerala has changed its stance over the Tharoor controversy. League is glad about it. There shall be no fissures within the Congress party. However, everyone’s demand must be addressed,” said Sadiq Ali Thangal.
