CPM calls for joint protest against CAA, criticises Mullappally Ramachandran
Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM state committee has called for joint agitation by both the LDF and UDF against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
CPM discarded the statement given out by KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran against both factions joining hands.
CPM also said that the human chain protest scheduled for January 26 will be an extension of the protest that was organised on December 16. Even though, it is an initiative taken by LDF, all like-minded people can join the protest, the press release from CPM said.
It says that using religious signs and organisations for the protest will only weaken the unity of the protestors. The combined protest by the Chief Minister and the leader of opposition gives optimism to not just Kerala, but the entire nation.
The CPM also commented on the helpful mentality showed by Ramesh Chennithala, former CM Oomen Chandy and Muslim League leadership.
The press release also stated that even though there are difference of opinion on other matters, the present situation demands everybody to join hands and take up the responsibility of protecting the constitution and the nation.
