CPI to take disciplinary action against Chathannoor MLA G. S. Jayalal
Thiruvananthapuram: The CPI state executive committee decided to take disciplinary action against Chathannoor MLA G. S. Jayalal in connection with buying a private hospital. The CPI has decided to remove Jayalal from all elected party posts. The disciplinary action will be officially announced after the CPI state council meeting.
The disciplinary action comes in response to Jayalal buying a private hospital after creating a co-operative society named Santhwanam Charitable Society. Earlier, the CPI had sent a show cause notice to Jayalal. The CPI state executive committee discussed Jayalal’s response to the notice.
The CPI observed that There were lapses on Jayalal’s part in the matter and decided to take disciplinary action against the MLA. The disciplinary action was recommended by party secretary Kanam Rajendran and was unanimously approved by the executive.
At present, Jayalal is a member of the CPI state council, Kannur district council and executive. As the MLA is a state committee member, the disciplinary action will be officially announced after the CPI state council meeting.
