Thiruvananthapuram: The CPI is likely to accept Jose K Mani faction of Kerala Congress allying with LDF for the local body polls if the CPM pressurizes them. However, CPI would not change their stand that Jose K Mani faction should not be a part of LDF.
It is clear from the stand of CPI that the CPM will have to make an effort to take Jose K Mani faction into the LDF. CPI may agree to cooperate with them only in the Kottayam district in local body polls, if CPM pressurizes them. CPI may change their stand if the alliance could win the local body polls.
Under the current circumstances, the CPI would be firm on their stand that the Jose K Mani faction should not be taken in the LDF. Earlier, the efforts of CPM to take K M Mani in LDF was stopped by the CPI. They are planning to continue with the same stand.
Meanwhile, CPI also assumes that Jose K Mani faction is likely to be reinstated in the UDF. Also they believe that the discussions between some leaders in Jose K Mani faction and Congress hints to their return to the UDF.
