CPI district councils in T'vm, Thrissur recommend 3 candidates
Thiruvananthapuram: Discussions on candidates are in progress inside CPI in the state as India is gearing up for the Lok Sabha polls. CPI district council has recommended three candidates to field from Thiruvananthapuram seat. Former minister and sitting MLA C Divakaran, party state secretary Kanam Rajendran and district secretary GR Anil are in the list.
Though the party members recommended Annie Raja as candidate, district council did not unanimously support it.
Meanwhile, it is hinted that Kanam Rajendran is not interested to contest in the polls. The district council included his name in the list observing that only he can give a tough competition for other parties in the polls.
In Thrissur, sitting MP CN Jayadevan, former minister KP Rajendran and Janayugam editor Rajaji Mathew Thomas are the three candidates recommended by district council.
Meanwhile, some members demanded to field minister VS Sunil Kumar in the Lok Sabha polls. But Sunil Kumar refused to contest.
